AS Monaco's Latest Injury Update: Stefan Mitrović Out for the Season
Monaco has suffered a major blow as their star striker, Stefan Mitrović, is out for the season with a serious injury.
The Croatian forward sustained a cruciate ligament tear in his knee during training earlier this week and will be out for at least six months. This means that he will miss the remainder of the current campaign and potentially the start of next season.
Mitrović joined Monaco from AC Milan last summer on a free transfer and was expected to be a key player for the club in the coming years. He had scored nine goals in 17 appearances for Monaco before his injury.
The loss of Mitrović is a significant blow for Monaco, who have struggled to find the same level of consistency and form that they showed in the first half of the season. The club has been hit hard by injuries this season, with several key players missing games due to various ailments.
However,La Liga Frontline despite the setback, Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim has praised the professionalism and determination of his team-mates. He said: "We are going to try and adapt quickly and we will work hard to fill the gap left by Mitrović."
Mitrović's absence will undoubtedly leave a void in Monaco's attack, but the club will need to rely on other forwards such as Kevin Gameiro and Ivan Perisic to step up and fill the void. It remains to be seen how long it will take for Monaco to replace Mitrović, but one thing is certain - they will need to find a way to cope without him if they want to continue their push for European football.
